Heroes!

I saw the last episode this morning before work. Spoiler free reactions above the cut, one major, major, spoiler beneath the cut.

Without any spoilers I'd have to say: Good to almost the last drop. There's one aspect that was a big disappointment and the cause of a mini rant. But overall an excellent 1st season and looking forward to the next.

Sylar got away? Are you kidding me? With Nicky/Jessica on her feet and tracking well? With Bennet still conscious and coherent? And Claire just standing there? OK, maybe Parkman wasn't handling things too well by then but Suresh was also on his feet. Not to mention Molly.

Come on guys, I know its comics on TV but after such intelligent and clever writing leading up to it this almost shattered my suspension of disbelief.

It falls into the category of "He's dead already, we can ignore him." Pretty standard stuff. The people still alive were concentrating on themselves, and ignoring the dead body.

I am disappointed that Hiro did not make sure - but he reasonably assumed that an impaling would do the trick. In practice, unless you get a major organ, or the spine, it is not going to be fatal in the short term. Given 2-3 days, it is likely to get you through peritonitis, though.

Given the amount of blood, it is not looking good for Sylar. In a real-world situation, he'll be a goner within 48 hours - but could still have crawled off. In TV-land, he will survive. The big question is 'How much of him will survive?'

And, to be honest, I think Sylar is going to be small fry in S2. A minor annoyance. The other one. He's the worry.
