Other than being located in Perth and offering a range of trikes I don't know anything about this recumbent dealer.

Trike 2 looks pretty cheap though.

Whilst I haven't played a lot of games this trip, the way I've been playing them is something I'm quite pleased about.

In particular for Settlers of Catan I've basically been playing for the right reasons (the company, the social interaction) in a "friendly" style (moving the robber to empty hexes, etc). I've won some, I've lost some but all of the games have been fun. Which is the whole point, and a sign that I've mellowed somewhat in recent years.

Oh, and as I believe I've mentioned previously Wings of War is cool! :)

Apologies

There are many people who I should be calling today to arrange a time to meet up for dinner, chats, and/or boardgames. People who I want to be calling because I'm looking forward to this week in Perth. You know who you are. :)

But it is just so hot that hiding in the airconditioning and vegging out seems to be all I'm good for today. So, apologies to all, and I hope I find the energy tomorrow.

Between dinner and re-watching episodes of 1st season West Wing I was channel surfing this evening. I came across a Victoria's Secret show of some sort that must have already aired in Perth - [livejournal.com profile] stephbg mentioned it a little while back here.

I think I watched for all of 20 seconds before going back to West Wing. None of the models were smiling and the speed at which that caused me to lose interest was astonishing.

I was channel surfing again after watching an episode and caught the finale for which all of the ladies were smiling.

And, suddenly, they were gorgeous. Oh what a difference...

Oh, and for the record, I liked the wings on [livejournal.com profile] tikiwanderer's butterfly costume better. :)

And with that in mind, happy birthday to [personal profile] cheshirenoirand [personal profile] darklion!

 To [personal profile] leecetheartist!

Fortunately for you, imagining me singing "Happy Birthday" is certainly more enjoyable than hearing me sing "Happy Birthday". :)

Post Card!

I've just received a lovely post card from the lovelier [livejournal.com profile] vegetus from Bounty Island. Made my day that did! :)

A lovely lady from South Australia who was on the Adelaide to Melbourne ride with me has had her favourite bike stolen. She thinks it may pop up interstate and has passed out a warning. An image and some details are beneath the cut - if you should happen across it please leave a comment and I'll pass the information on.

That bike is truly beautiful, and to see it stolen just sucks.

EDIT: The owner has been in contact with me again, and a reward for valid information is offered.

I had an excellent ride with a friend yesterday that included Red Hill (featuring a nasty climb followed, naturally, by 30000 Pounds of Bananas style descent) but it seemed like I was struggling in places and the road seemed bumpier than normal.

On returning home (after a brief detour via Koko Blacks. Mmmmmmmmm), the cause proved to be a bulge in the tyre large enough for it to be scraping against the mudguard. I changed it this morning and the ride is much better now. :)

In other news the problems with the knee are lingering but taping it seems to be helping (one nasty twinge yesterday though as I was locking up the trike across the road from Koko Blacks).

Spent dining on a warm spring night in the fine company of [livejournal.com profile] dalekboy and [livejournal.com profile] shazgirl.

Life is good. :)

Its been a busy, and tiring, week at work. Enough so that I've barely had time to lurk let alone post.

I'll be showing up at least some of the time at ConFlux but may not be spending too much time there, I'll see how it plays out. Possibly not tonight, I'm much less interested than usual in pretending to be sociable...

I'm feeling a touch evil at the moment. So, in the interests of dangling temptation before [personal profile] leecetheartist,  I've attached two photos of a beautiful candy violet X3 beneath the cut.

PS: My birthday pressie arrived yesterday. Thanks, it looks great!

Recently

[personal profile] angriest collected votes for the Top 50 SF Shows and is now publishing the list in blocks of five (most recent list here) with commentary.

I've been enjoying the list and the commentary but the one show I'm dreading is...

Neon Genesis Evangelion.

OK, I feel better now. :)

On Saturday I ran into [personal profile] lilysea whilst we were both shopping for energy efficient lightbulbs. I also bought a pair of regulars in case the twisty flouro bulbs didn't fit (they did). In the course of our pleasant chat covetous eyes were cast upon my trailer. :)

On a glorious Sunday afternoon I went for a pleasant ride with another friend around the eastern end (the wetlands) of Lake Burley Griffin and also ran into a member of the Canberra Mob and (he was riding a yellow Trisled which should narrow it down for any other members of the Canberra Mob reading this).

Life is good.

...maybe something that sounds too good to be true is true. Or is at least close enough for government work. :)

The new frame arrived this morning before Michael had a chance to return it. So, he's rebuilding it this morning and will deliver it some time this afternoon. He'll also lend me a Croozer Cargo trailer to test which should be good, and give me a chance (this weekend hopefully) to test ride the WizWheels so I can give a report to

[personal profile] leecetheartist and [profile] rdmasters.

Coming on top of a very pleasant weekend in Perth - an excellent dinner with friends on Saturday night*, a pleasant walk to/from brunch with leecetheartist and rdmasters, and another excellent dinner with family on Sunday night - I'm pretty pleased with life at the moment.

*Note to foodies in Perth: Krayaharn, a Thai restaurant, at the Marmion Village Shopping Centre on Sheppard Way is excellent, highly recommended. Note to the friends that wouldn't let me pay for my meal: revenge will be mine, and you'll get yours one of these days. :)

This morning I was in the gym for less than an hour... and the fairing frosted over.

Oh, and this was while the sun was up.

In other news [personal profile] lilyseahas written a wonderful post for mutual friends about our ballooning yesterday with [profile] willowgypsy.

Tonight I'll try to write up a review of the National Capital Orchestra concert I went to yesterday afternoon. For the moment, very enjoyable. Mind you its getting to the point where I don't care what the NCO plays, I know I'm going to enjoy it anyway. :)

The drive train is still being problematic towards the top end of the middle ring but seems to be settling down outside of that range.

Oh, and I've read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and may post some thoughts about it later.

It was a busy weekend.
arcadiagt5: (Default)
A bunch of stuff today  - Michael from Fuse Recumbents showed up to make those finicky adjustments to the rear derailleur, and then bought the latest Harry Potter (which I'll go back to shortly).

After lunch I had a pleasant afternoon tea with [profile] willowgypsy (since the lady is visiting Canberra at the moment), and I've just been preparing for the ballooning outing tomorrow (ie charging batteries for the camera). Oh, and posting a few photos of the shiny new addition to the Arcadia. :)

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, even if its going to be a) cold and b) involve getting up on a Sunday at Monday morning gym hours...
arcadiagt5: (Airborne!)
Went for a ride around the western end of Lake Burley Griffin with a friend this morning. When we came back across Commonwealth Ave we came to the spot where, occasionally, I've been known to jump the trike. As I believe I've previously mentioned here and here.

Friend in question is more than happy to borrow my camera to see if he can catch the moment.

Which he almost did*. As you can see from the new userpic the rear wheel hasn't quite lifted yet. The full photo is beneath the cut along with a pretty shot of a rainbow on (in?) the Captain Cook Waterjet.

EDIT: So far most of my userpics were taken by friends with my camera. I'm kinda liking that. A lot. :)

Well I've just rewatched The Right Stuff and Royal Space Force: Wings of Honneamise and I've started writing the review. Its taking some time because I need to find the right things to say, and it could end up being quite long.

Went for a ride yesterday with a friend, rode about 26Ks which was good. The only downside was that I obviously need to make fresh sacrifices to the puncture pixies since they expressed some displeasure with me. OTOH they've been away for several months now so thats a pretty good run. :)

Also I'm not at work, nor am I going to be at work all weekend. So life is pretty good right now. :)
arcadiagt5: (Default)
I went grocery shopping today and when I got back to the trike with my food I found a "hello!" note on the seat.

A pleasant surprise and thanks for that. :)

Based on where I was I'm guessing it was [personal profile] lilyseaor [profile] vegetusbut I didn't recognise the handwriting. And having made that guess I'll promptly be proven wrong. :)
