So very very wrong

As seen on John Scalzi's Whatever, an Israeli newspaper has published the content of Barack Obama's message to God. NB: The AP article contains the full text of the message so don't click if you don't want to read it.
There are two aspects of this that drive home how very wrong this was:
a) "The wall is emptied of its notes several times a year. The papers are treated as a prayer book and buried, rather than burned."
ie: This stuff is treated as holy even as it is being disposed of.
b) "While Maariv drew criticism, the removal and publication of the note did not appear violate any laws. Police officials said they were not investigating the incident."
ie: No one ever thought that a law would be needed to cover this. It is just so wrong that no one thought that anything beyond the rabbinic prohibition would be needed.
