Wings of War. Crunch. Crunch.

arcadiagt5Had a couple of good games of Wings of War with some amusing moments.
The first game was a balloon-busting scenario with rockets and anti-aircraft guns. Mayhem ensued in which my Nieuport managed to explode the balloon just before I ran into it. I hasten to add that I was planning to dodge it but on the very same phase I made it go boom, Patrick made my rudders go away. Yes, rudders plural. The going straight meant that the anti-aircraft fire was a non-issue but it did mean that Patrick's Albatross got far too good a shot in as I tried to get away. Net result: A win for Patrick.
The second was a duel with anti-aircraft guns (one each), miniatures, and the altitude rules. We strafed the opposing anti-aircraft guns out of existence fairly quickly. Unfortunately the ground hugging (level 0) needed to safely approach the guns led to a collision. Oops. The first collision was a bit incendiary for me but Patrick escaped that one lightly. After that we climbed out of the dirt at about the same rate, jinked about whilst shooting at each other and then collided again. The second collision put paid to Patrick's Snipe. Net result: A win for me.
Memo to self: Must be more careful about dodging the other planes next time. Those collisions can really hurt...
