I'm currently in the Sydney Domestic Terminal Qantas Club Lounge and I won't see my baggage again until Christchurch.
That's the good news.
The bad news (such as it is*) is that I've already taken the transfer bus to the international terminal once only to discover that
a) I can't check in until 2:10PM*; and
b) There isn't a lounge on this side of customs.
*Although the Qantas Club checkin staff did their best to try and check me in, and they were the ones that let me back on to the bus back here. All in all I've been getting really good service today so I'm qu
So, back on the bus back to the domestic terminal to where there is a lounge with cheese, powerpoints, and wireless reception. Oh and fruit juice.
Oh well, not to worry, I'll just keep an eye on the time and wander back to the bus around 2ish.
As to the title of the post, well I've already discovered that the cable connecting camera to laptop has gone astray. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a replacement or a card reader from the duty free shops once I check in and get past customs.
In the meantime if you want to have fun speculating wildly about all the other things I might have forgotten go right ahead. :)

Date: 2009-03-08 01:35 am (UTC)I bought a new 2GB SD card and card reader in the US for about $10 shipped. I wonder how much "duty-free" will cost?

Date: 2009-03-08 01:41 am (UTC)a) That's when my connecting flight from Canberra arrived; and
b) Having only paid a grand total of $267 for my half dozen or so flights (frequent flyer points are wonderful!) I suppose I have to expect the occasional long gap.
Also, c) A long gap is better than arriving at customs 10 minutes after your next flight was due to leave...

Date: 2009-03-08 02:04 am (UTC)Qantas points are useful, but fail to be wonderful. I paid a little over half that to book my flights to Montreal for Worldcon (10 flights, United/Air Canada, half way around the world, in first class), because they charge the actual taxes and don't add a pile of spurious fees as Qantas does.
